Crosby's Puck Pyramid
As turkey day draws near and things are winding down here at Hockey Hub Headquarters we decided to take some time to investigate the recent Sidney Crosby/RBK video. We submitted the footage to our video forensics lab to see what they could come up with...and here are the results.
Original Puck Pyramid Clip:
Results: At the 00:28 we see Sid winding up with 2 pucks in front of him, prior to his slapshot that crumbles the pyramid.
After he destroys the pyramid and the lone puck begains to roll down the boards he can be seen at the 00:30 mark with one puck left in front of him that he is about shoot at the rolling puck.
The camera pans down and zooms in on the rolling puck and as it pans back to Sid at the 00:33 mark, 2 Pucks have magically appeared! We do realize one of them may have been a rebound from his slapshot, but that does not explain the 2nd ghost puck.
Conclusion: The video has either been edited from multiple takes or some sort of CGI was used. Either way, it's still a pretty sick vid and Crosby's still a machine...no matter what the evidence shows. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
